Summer Dance Days for Youth Information

Preschool DANCE PARTY DAYS!

Ages 3-5:

Our youngest dancers will fill their mornings with ballet, outside adventures, creative movement, arts & crafts, dance games, stories and more!  These themed dance days are a terrific opportunity for children to explore several types of dance while parents get some time to get things done!

*Please send labeled water bottle, snacks, and wear sunblock. Comfortable clothes for movement or dance clothes. No shoes or socks needed (can wear ballet shoes if student wants) in classroom but walking shoes needed for adventures.

 

Elementary Mindful Movement DANCE DAYS!

Incoming Kindergarten-2nd grade:

Students will have a range of classes from yoga, pilates, ballet, hip hop and more! The dance history project will let students hear the music from the time, read books about time period, see videos of time period dance and make up their own dance/story to time period specific dances.

*Please send labeled water bottle, snacks, and wear sunblock. Comfortable clothes for movement or dance clothes. No shoes or socks needed (can wear ballet shoes if student wants) in classroom but walking shoes needed for adventures.

Example of Daily schedule
9-915: drop off at Center for the Arts back entrance
915-1000: Yoga with Sophia (Rotates weekly)
1000-1015: snack
1015-1115: Fun at Pirate park
1130-1200: Lunch at Pirate park
1200-1215: Clean up/wash hands/bathroom break
1215-100: Dance History reading/learning
115-200: Outdoor conditioning with Ashley (rotates weekly)
215-300: Dance History Project with Lily
300-330: Clean up for day, Play at Pirate park.

 

Aerial/Acro DANCE DAYS!

Incoming 3rd-5th graders:

Grade 3/4/5 Aerial/Acro Dance Days!
For incoming 3rd to 5th grade students.

Join us for a day of bending and flying! Our movers will be split in 2 groups. Each group will have 1.15 hours with aerial and 1.15 hours with acrobatics. We will have a break in between classes to power up on healthy snacks, water and sunshine. Movers should wear tight fitting clothes, hair up and out of their face, bring snacks and a water bottle (labeled with name). Bare feet will be worn in classes but please wear closed toed shoes to camp for outdoor play.

9-915: drop off at Center for the Arts lower lobby entrance
915-1015: Group A to Aerial in Jones/Group B to Acro in Schaul
1015-1030: snack and Fun at Pirate park
10:45-11:45: Group A to Acro in Schaul/Group B to Aerial in Jones
11:45-12:00: Clean up. Meet parents at Pirate park for check out.
